About Laura

Laura is an emerging photographer based in Western Sydney with a passion for capturing the beauty in the everyday world around us. Her photographic journey began with a love of art in school, where she explored video art for her HSC. Her final work titled "Hold Your Breath" was entered into Art Express and displayed in the Art Gallery NSW. It was a Christmas gift of a digital camera from her parents that truly sparked Laura's interest in photography.

What Laura loves most about photography is giving new life to the often overlooked scenes and objects we encounter daily. Through her lens, something as simple as a bicycle spoke or a green plant sprouting from a pile of dead leaves takes on a renewed vibrancy and interest. Her favorite subjects range from urban landscapes to nature's small wonders like flowers.

For Laura, photography is not just about the final images, but the whole experience of getting out with her camera bag and immersing herself in her surroundings for the day. She finds the act of being present, looking at her environment mindfully, and composing her shots incredibly rewarding and therapeutic. A photography outing typically involves planning a destination, packing a lunch, and allowing time to simply recharge amidst the scenery.

While currently an enthusiastic amateur, Laura has bigger aspirations on the horizon. She has enrolled in an online photography course to further develop her skills and artistic vision. Looking ahead, she hopes to grow her portfolio, expand her audience through social media, and explore creative venues for showcasing her work. Laura believes in networking and brainstorming with others to think "outside the box" about the many possibilities for where her photographs could be displayed and appreciated.

Whether capturing the personalities of beloved dogs or transforming the most ordinary objects into artistic compositions, Laura's photography celebrates the inherent beauty that surrounds us all. Her insightful eye and passion for this creative craft is sure to leave a distinct mark in the years to come.
